Can't Exclude Certain Sets in Report Manager

Please can you submit a product feature request that could be implemented by June 2025 (next year) that allows one of the following:-

  • Request to implement in Report Manager to add “Set” Exclusions by “contains” filter. i.e. The ability to add text say “SF” or “SFSD” and if the set name/code contains this text then exclude this Set.

AND/OR

  • Add an extra field called “Category” to the “Sets” so we can set “Support” on certain sets. And in Report Manager add an exclusion property for Set Categories so we can exclude these sets by “Support” Category.

Why? Because our Sixth Form Students for Years 12 and 13 have additional Classes for "Support" which is separate to their normal classes/Sets. They are label as "SFSD/Ar1" for example and exist in their allocated subjects like Art etc among the other normal classes, as it makes it easier to look them up. However, teachers do not write reports on these "Support" classes, but they are showing up in the Teachers Report Writing lists. Your report exclusions only seem to have "Subject" but this won't work as we do not want to Exclude the whole subject! Your engineer Coral Acreman confirms this is a limitation in your software but we require this to effectively use your Report Manager/ Report Wizard!

We have a similar issue: Supplementary sets within a subject e.g. PE practical groups or Maths support, require a primary teacher in order that registrations are created for the lessons. This however then triggers a duplicate report for the students within that subject. These cannot be removed as unwanted reports by admin if the report setup is for primary teacher only. an option to exclude specific sets at report creation time would be useful to halt the generation of these duplications. This requirement could also be avoided if registrations were generated based on the timetabled teacher assignment rather than the set having a primary teacher (after all the registration for a specific lesson will be assigned to the timetabled teacher rather than the Primary for the set). Sets not requiring reports could be omitted from report cycles by virtue of having no primary teacher assigned, only a teacher for each individual lesson. I really don't want to have to create additional subjects to house these duplicate sets in order to avoid them popping up in reports.

We have the same problem with our BTEC classes which are taught in more than one block but have the same students and teacher so only need one report.

It would be more useful to be able to exclude individual sets from report cycles if they are not needed. This would make it easier for staff as they would only see the ones that they actually need to write, and also for admin to keep check on whic...

Can it be made possible to exclude sets during reporting cycles. You can exclude pupils and year groups but not sets....
