We would like to add some custom fields to contacts in Student Manager relating to employment details but would need to be able to record data about each individual in a contact record. This is fine for records that only include one individual person's data but for contact types that include two people (for example Parents) this doesn't work as we can only create custom fields in the sections of the record that apply to both people.
We could work around this by creating duplicate custom fields (eg. rather than "Employer" we could have "Employer - Contact 1" and "Employer - Contact 2" or something similar but then this would appear on all the single individual contact types as well and seems a slightly inelegant workaround. It would be great if the custom fields could be added to the sections in the attached screenshot to accompany the "Profession" field.
Unfortunately there is no other option other then creating two custom fields at present. This situation will be resolved as part of the contacts rewrite project.
