This is my scenario, I connect each assessment column to the new report cycle and the mark element in the output report template one by one in many GradeBooks in each report quarters. The only one thing different is the report cycle, but the output template is the same for each subject in this whole process.
I have looked the assessment column records in the database, basically is connecting an assessment column to a report cycle id and the mark element id. I know there are more fields should be in the template, but those are the key fields. The new idea I am requesting here if the assessment column records can be exported into an Excel spreadsheet, fill up the report cycle id, mark element id, etc. Then import it back to mass update the assessment columns, this will save a huge amount of time comparing with clicking each column, choose the report cycle, connect the mark element in a pop-up window. I spent more than two days connecting all of them in each report quarter. With this functionality, less than an hour in the Excel, work done.
Thank you for the suggestion.
We are seeking better workflows that don't require users to export and then re-import data. The development of the Curriculum Manager Modules will enable users to create and allocate Gradebook Templates, as well as pre-allocate columns as "assessment" columns. These will be associated with Year Group and Subject Structure sets.
Users will then have the capability to associate template gradebook structures with import templates in Reports Manager, facilitating a more bulk and repeatable process.
Essentially you can associate Gradebook Templates which are allocated to sets to Reports Manger Centrally vs having to do this as a Gradebooks tick box function.
We are still in planning and it may not be something we can address until the end of next school year.
