It seems dangerous to force users to download documents regarding concerns rather than have a default option to view them in a browser without actually downloading it..
Whilst it is not iSAMS' concern what happens to a document after it has been downloaded to a users local storage, and that School Policy should dictate what a user does about removing traces of such data when finished using it, it does seem somewhat odd that this is the ONLY method of viewing a document available to us.
Could not iSAMS provide such a method of viewing a document without downloading it, perhaps making it the default method of viewing documents but configurable by each school to fit their needs?
Absolutely agree. It feels like this actually goes against good GDPR practice in forcing us to unnecessarily download potentially highly sensitive documents like Ed Psych reports. As a SENDCo, I am constantly needing to access documents stored in the SEND Documentation, and as the price of specific provision mapping software is constantly increasing, you may find more schools wanting an internal system, or small plug in option instead of an expensive additional system.
