Improvement Suggestions for Timetables - External Exams Manager

.

  1. Being able.1 to move/order completed seating plans up and down within the same date as it doesn’t list all the same subject together and not in time order either.

    2. When creative new seating plans students not to be pre-populated and remain un-ticked or have option to untick all.

    3. If you attempt to sit a venue again ie. GYM and it is already full – then the system shouldn’t let you do this as currently it does.

    4. When seating large number of students ie. 150 students into a 120 venue for example, you can select all 150 students and computer will cut it off at 120 to let you seat just them and then you can do another seating venue for those 30.

    5. Ability to make a seat inactive (preferably in colour ie. Yellow/Red) in each seating plan you make by selecting a seat and click on. In SIMS could right mouse click a seat and make it inactive just for that seating plan.

    6. Be able to Clone seating plans by having a clone button. For Example normally have three GCSE Maths Papers so after you sat Paper 1 you can select to clone it to Paper 2 etc and then easier to tweek than re-start over from scratch.

    7. On manage seating plans have no restriction how many it lists as it’s a nuisance changing it from 25 to ALL.

    8. Be able to seat more than 1 subject in a venue, and blanks out what you have already sat.

    9. On the seating plan you export regardless of version word, excel, pdf – put a key abbreviation at bottom of each plan of what Access Arrangements mean. For example: WP = Word Processor, D = Dictionary, SI = Separate Invigilation, P = Prompter, R = Reader, S = Scribe, C = Colour naming, RAP = Read aloud/Pen, EP = Enlarged Papers, RB = Rest Breaks & CP = Coloured Papers. (Would be useful to have a tick box on Access Arrangements for Coloured Papers).

Thank your for the idea, we are looking at doing some work on seating plans within the next year or two and will factor this in as part of that work.

In addition to the suggestions above, being able to customise the detail for the seats, such as being able to have the examination name rather than the code would be very helpful.
